Above all else… safety first!
Safety is a priority for all Viking Surf Sports sessions to ensure successful skill advancement in surf lifesaving skills; and techniques are facilitated safely by competent and qualified coaches and a dedicated water safety team.
Surf sports can play a critical role in developing the physical competence and confidence needed for youngsters who find themselves in aquatic environments that have inherent risks. All water sports come with risks, but these will be minimised if safety, competence and skills improvement are an absolute priority. Through its affiliation with NSW Surf Lifesaving, support from Surf Lifesaving Australia (SLSA) & International Life Saving (ILS) along with appropriate accreditations in the UAE, Viking Surf Sports will adhere to world leading standards for running surf sports.
Please Note:
- Viking Surf Sports and Nippers is not a learn to swim program. All new joiners and participants are expected to already be able to swim at least 25m unaided in a pool for U6 and U8 teams, and U10s and above must be able to swim 50m or more unaided in a pool.
- Every Viking will be assessed in the initial session to determine their swimming ability.
